Hercules
The Loyal Companion
Born in April 2021, Strong and steady, Hercules is Cedric’s right-hand alpaca. He is laid-back and gentle, with a soft heart beneath his sturdy frame. Always happy to hang back or go with the flow, Hercules is the dependable middle brother who brings a quiet sense of calm to the paddock.
Huacaya Alpacas
Social Herd Animals
Alpacas are herd animals and thrive in groups. A single alpaca will not do well alone — they need their friends for companionship and emotional wellbeing (which is why our trio is perfect!).
No Upper Teeth
Like all alpacas, Huacaya’s lack upper front teeth, using a dental pad instead to shear off grass and hay.
Efficient Grazers
Alpacas have a three-compartment stomach and are very efficient at digesting rough forage, making them environmentally friendly grazers with a light footprint on pastureland.
Fluffy Fleece
Huacaya’s are known for their dense, crimped fleece that gives them a teddy bear-like appearance. Their fleece is soft, warm, and ideal for spinning into yarn. It’s often compared to cashmere in texture!
Distinct from Suri Alpacas
There are two breeds of alpaca: Huacaya and Suri. Huacayas have woolly, crimpy fiber that stands out from the body, while Suri’s have silky, dreadlock-like fleece that hangs down.
