Meet Our Gorgeous Embden Geese – Bruce, Flo, Peaches & Pearl!

These four elegant white beauties have really settled into life at Horsepool Farm and are full of character!

Fun fact: Female Embden geese usually start laying in their second spring and can produce 30–40 large, rich eggs in a season. If all goes to plan, we’ll hopefully have some lovely goose eggs for sale next spring – perfect for baking or an indulgent breakfast!

Geese are often misunderstood – while they can come across as aggressive, ours aren’t. In fact, much of that “aggression” is just natural guarding behaviour. A goose’s instinct is to protect their flock and territory, so if they sense fear, they may chase – not because they’re mean, but because they’re responding to perceived weakness or a potential threat.

You’ll find Bruce, Flo, Peaches and Pearl patrolling the paddock, swimming in their pool, and keeping a watchful eye on the farm
